Vulnerabilities can be hard to detect. Adding source code analysis to our industry-leading Safety to Deploy testing provides a more thorough security review. On its own, source code analysis can produce a lot of noise – notifications from the analysis tool that are not real vulnerabilities. Also, a system that is not instrumented correctly will yield many false positives that must be sorted through and false negatives (lurking defects). Your TA will use his or her understanding of your application and our analysis tools to eliminate the false positives and reveal lurking defects. By using the ‘theoretical’ information from source code analysis to guide test procedures, we are able to provide more comprehensive results and recommendations to improve your software security.
